As the song goes, it's the most wonderful time of the year!
Well, for the most part: As long as you don't think about the shopping, the cooking, the cleaning, the prepping… Now stop that thought right there!
Although there are plenty of tasks we can worry about this time of the year, we all have to take care of ourselves and enjoy the holiday cheer while it lasts.
Now, even though we know that responsibilities don't magically disappear (though these Christmas life hacks might help), it's important to find the right balance. Long day at work? Go out for a nice drink. Spent the whole afternoon shopping until almost literally dropping? Have a honey-induced dessert or cup of tea for an energy kick.
Read through the list below, and you'll get more relaxed by just knowing ways to unwind! Did we miss any of your favorite tips?

1. Zing With A Little Zest

Nothing like a whiff of citrus to instantly pick up your mood — whether it’s essential oil or an actual fresh slab of fruit. Not only do these energizing foods stimulate nerves, but they are also rich in vitamin C, according to ABC News.
2. Listen To Your Favorite Beats

And no, it doesn’t have to be Christmas music — although 'tis the season! Listening to music that you hold dear to your heart is known to increase blood flow and relax blood vessels.
3. Soak Up The Sun

Whether it's taking a walk around the block during lunch break or even inching a bit closer to the window in the office, getting in contact with some natural rays will elevate your mood and give you an extra dose of vitamin D.
4. Get Physical

This can mean different things to different people. Sign up for that hot yoga class you’ve been meaning to try, or treat yourself to a step counter and make sure you hit your daily goal. Anything goes — just make sure you keep the fitness level up.
5. Honey, Have Some Honey

Consuming an extra amount of this sticky goodness will give you an extra dose of carbohydrates, which provide you with a great energy boost.
6. Put The Phone Down (No, We’re Not Joking)

Remember the good old days when leaving your cell at home wasn’t that much of a problem, and your ear didn't need to be glued to a phone? Well, do yourself a favor and take a break for a while: Turn it off, put it out of sight, and relax.
7. Apply Pressure To The Right Places

The skin between your index finger and thumb on either hand — also known as the hoku spot in traditional Japanese — is a great place to release stress, according to Health.com. Just apply a bit of pressure for 30 seconds, take deep breaths, and embrace the reduced tension in your upper body.
8. Embrace Spiciness

Add a little extra healthiness to your diet by eating foods with a bit of a kick! Spicy foods are known to trigger the release of endorphins, which are known to produce feel-good vibes and emotions. And if you’re a fan of spices anyway, it’s a win-win situation.
9. Let Yourself Indulge — But Not Too Much

It’s the holidays: the excuse you’ve been needing to have that extra slice of cake or piping cup of rich hot cocoa. And with all the stress that comes with the holidays, you deserve to give yourself a bit of a comfort-food release — just make sure to keep it in check so you don't go overboard.
