It's the season of giving, and many parents are taking advantage of deals on toys, electronics, clothing, and many other items.
Of course, this means splurging on the people on their holdiay lists, such as friends and family.
But the season of giving isn't just about offering gifts to the people we love, it's also about giving to strangers, and often strangers in need. One cashier got in the holiday spirit and stepped up to help a mom when she couldn't pay for her daughter's toy.
The mother, named Chelsea, pulled all the cash she had and was still just over $5 short of her total. She told her disappointed 8-year-old daughter that she had to put the toy back, but a cashier came to the rescue.
Sheilla Nelson was working at the next register at the Toys "R" Us when she overheard the mother's dilemma. Without hesitating, she offered to pay for the remainder of the bill!
The thankful mother told the story to her husband, Roger. He marched back in and donated $552 in gift cards for the store to hand out to people who might not be able to afford their purchases — more than 100 times the amount Sheilla gave his wife and daughter!
