When you think about The Nutcracker, you most likely think of a classic Christmas movie, an orchestra, or a supreme ballet performance.
But since it's been around since 1892, you'd expect some evolution in how it's portrayed, right?
This performance of The Nutcracker with the talented California Philharmonic behind three dancers is the furthest thing from classical!
Three young men stand on stage in very appropriate, red, nutcracker-like costumes, and start with their heads toward the floor.
When they start their routine, everyone is in and out of laughter. So I'm sure they were pleasantly surprised.
The trio breaks out into robotic dance moves, something called "pop and locking," and their positions correlate with the music absolutely flawlessly.
They don't just show off their talent, but their personalities come out too. They seem to be goofy, charismatic men, and they definitely make their moves entertaining at the very least.
Their unique take on the classic might be something for the younger generation to enjoy, but it's definitely still something we can all appreciate.
