Brooke Schermann looked forward to her birthday for weeks — after all, you only turn 5 once. She invited her family, another family from her church, and her entire class from school.
On the day of the party, though, nobody from her class showed up. Not a single one of her peers made it to her fifth birthday party. Brooke was understandably very upset.
Her older sister Brianna was devastated on Brooke's behalf. Earlier in the week Brianna shared her excitement about Brooke's birthday on Twitter: "Awww my little Brooke Cookie is turning 5 today. Happy birthday Brookelynn Samantha Hope Schermann!"
Along with the "happy birthday" tweet, Brianna shared some pictures of Brooke and herself doing normal sister things. The two have a close bond, so Brianna was upset nobody came to Brooke's party.
Just as Brooke was feeling sad, though, her best friend from school showed up.
Bryce, her classmate, came to the party just at the right time and completely saved the day.
Brianna wrote: "Brooke invited her whole class and not one showed up. When her bff Bryce came her attitude went from sad to happy. Thank god for bestfriends [sic]!"
Brooke and Bryce spent the rest of the party together, playing and posing for pictures like true best friends.
Honestly, having one best friend is so much better than having a bunch of casual acquaintances — something Bryce really proves to be true.
