Groom’s Family Goes Nuts When Bride Bends Down During African Dance Routine

A wedding dance is as unique as the couple performing it. It's a combination of the bride and groom's tastes, and when they come up with their routine (which they will perform in front of all their guests!), they make sure that it's both fun to perform and fun to watch!

For Katy and Jeff Hammond, this meant fusing several cultures. Though both are from the United Kingdom, Jeff's family is originally from Nigeria.

They decided to honor this part of their new life together by including traditional Nigerian dance moves in their wedding dance routine!

The dance starts out to be as expected until the music changes, and the newlyweds break into a fun number to a medley of very different songs.

They obviously saved the best one for last, when the bride shows how she can replicate moves from a culture that is not her own. She bends down, shakes her shoulders, and taps her feet while the groom's family and other thrilled guests cheer her on!

The video has been watched thousands of times, and many people are praising Katy for learning the routine, undoubtedly foreign to her: it's a sign of her honoring and welcoming the Nigerian culture as part of her new life!
