A proposal is a very emotional affair for all involved. With a flurry of emotions running through the future bride and groom, there's little time to fully process and appreciate the moment. There's so much going on!
But imagine you're the woman in this video, Shawna Blackmon. She was very worried about her biker boyfriend, Daiwon McPherson: He stood her up for dinner and refused to answer her phone calls. She knew something was wrong.
It wasn't long before she heard that police were searching for him. This was believable, as he had been arrested once before.
When the video starts, she stumbles upon him and his biker gang at a gas station. The flashing blue lights of cop cars mean trouble, and she witnesses two officers order him to get on the ground, on his knees. She gets in between them to do some damage control.
With the officers on edge, she promises to find the gun hiding in her boyfriend's jacket. But what he pulls out instead is a ring — an engagement ring! Perhaps with relief, Shawna breaks down into happy tears.
The crafty man had enlisted the cops to help with his surprise proposal. The entire department knew, and it was perfectly staged to make the scene look as believable as possible.
Shawna didn't even get a good look at the ring until much later, when she was able to fully comprehend what was going on. She wasn't disappointed!
