Motorcycle Gang Marches Through Hospital Doors, Then Surprises Sick Kids With Toys

A burly man with a bundle of toys pulled up to the front of the Covenant Children's Hospital. But it wasn't jolly old Saint Nick bringing early holiday cheer to the kids, it was a member of a motorcycle gang.

Though these leather-bound, engine-revving guys look tough, each are equipped with an equally heavy heart of gold.

For the past seven years, the members of the Boozefighters Motorcycle Club have been dedicated to bringing smiles to sick children's faces.

But raising thousands of dollars to help support the hospital and bring toys for the kids to play with are not the most noteworthy accomplishment, according to the chapter's president, "Boozefighter" Hunter.

"You see the smiles on these kids face, and if we can just be a little bit of a distraction from getting stuck or just being in the hospital,” says Hunter with a slight smile. “Just bring one smile and that makes it all worth it.”

One of these now smiling faces is that of two-year-old Colt Adkins, who was hospitalized for a severed artery after he was pinned by a vehicle.

When he first saw the men marching through the doors with their arms filled with toys,  Colt began giggling and clapping in excitement. He has been unable to crawl around or play on the ground for months, so these gifts will be a welcome distraction!

Watching Colt and the other children's reactions is exactly why these fellas have continued their holiday tradition. "Christmas to us isn't about toys but it's about family,” Hunter explains, “and about just being selfless and helping others.”

The holidays are definitely the perfect time to flex our selfless-muscles, but it's a tradition that should be celebrated all season long. If you find acts of kindness like this bike gang's admirable, be sure to SHARE their story with your friends and spread their message of giving.
