Expert Blames Terrible Parents For Entitled Millennials In Brilliant Video

What is a Millennial?

Many people have come up with a similar consensus about what defines Millennials, calling them "the lazy, silver-spoon generation."

Author and consultant Simon Sinek, who has written on leadership and management, describes the Millennial generation as any group born after 1984 that is accused of being lazy, narcissistic, entitled, and hard to manage.

In the video below, titled "The Millennial Question," Sinek offers his take on Millennials and what it is that's caused them to be labeled as such, especially in the workplace.

He discusses how the majority of Millennials all want to work in places that allow them to have an impact and a purpose, though they still can't find happiness.

"There's a missing piece," Sinek says.

He breaks down his idea into four characteristics of what he believes contribute to the creation of a "Millennial": parenting, technology, patience, and environment.

He claims that these four factors have led to an entire generation of impatient people with low self-esteem, a lack of in-person social skills, and an addiction to technology.

All of this contributes to Millennials suffering from a lack of joy in their lives, putting them at risk of depression and even suicide. But he claims none of this is their fault — they were just dealt a bad hand.

Sinek says that workplaces need to find ways to help this "amazing, idealistic generation" find what it's missing.
