Entire Gym Erupts Around Young Boy When He Makes Basketball Shot In Honor Of Late Dad

Jacob Thorpe, 12, was left grieving when his father died of throat cancer in November 2016.

The support group Kids Against Cancer "adopted" Jacob over the holidays, hoping to bring some happiness back into his life.

And what's the best way to make a kid happy? Bring them to "the Happiest Place on Earth," of course. That's right, Disneyland.

The organization wanted to send Jacob to Disneyland to bring his spirits up, so they set up a basketball competition for him. While he was attending a local basketball game, they called him down to the court and told him that if he could make a three-point shot, they would give him tickets to Disneyland.

They actually planned to give Jacob the tickets whether or not he made the shot, so the "contest" was really more for show.

It turns out that Jacob had a hidden basketball talent, though, and he made the incredible three-point shot on his very first try.

The crowd exploded in cheers as soon as the ball passed through the net, flooding the court and lifting Jacob onto their shoulders.

While Jacob would have undoubtedly had an amazing time at Disneyland no matter what, now it will be even more special because he'll know that he truly earned it.

I'm sure Jacob's father would have been very proud of him — it's obvious the basketball fans are. Please SHARE this story on Facebook!
