Son Goes Missing For 3 Days, Then Family Learns He’s Been Trapped In His Car

Hunter Kittle, 24 years old,  was driving through California's Mount Baldy, when his night took an unexpected turn.

As he was going down the road, his car swerved and plummeted 70 feet into a ravine.

The young man amazingly survived the fall, but he wasn't fully in the clear. He woke up in his wrecked car with a collapsed lung, fractured skull, and a broken leg. His pain must have been indescribable.

Due to his serious injuries and the shape of his now destroyed vehicle, Hunter was unable to make his way out of the vehicle. He had to deal with his intolerable pain until someone found him.

The Kittle family worried about where their son could be and as each day passed without any communication, the situation became all the more nerve wracking.

After a total of three nights, a motorist passed by and noticed the car wreck nestled in the ravine. The authorities were notified and ran to the scene to keep Hunter alive. Soon, he was airlifted to the hospital, on his way to recovery.

In the video below, posted on January 31, 2017, Hunter is in his hospital bed and says, "I was elated that — I was so happy, you know — that I was finally being saved, that I still had a chance left to survive." He goes on to explain, "Mainly, it was mind over matter. Me wanting and willing myself to survive long enough to get down that hill, one way or another. I didn't want that to be my final chapter in my life."

Thanks to his determination to live and a keen-eyed stranger, Hunter survived this tragedy and now has a new perspective on life.
