Being away or separated from a loved one can be tough. Now, imagine being a young child forced to be separated from their mom.
Such is the case with Ryan Woods, a young boy who was about to celebrate his 100th day of preschool without his mother.
Taylor Leach, the boy's mom, had been away for six months, deployed overseas with the U.S. Air Force. But like this dad who made a grand return to his family, this soldier mom surprised her son to make a special occasion unforgettable.
Ryan was preparing to mark his preschool milestone with classmates at A.C. Steere Elementary in Los Angeles.
"He definitely has missed her a lot," said Amber Robinson, a teacher at the school.
Indeed, one only has to look at the T-shirt Ryan is wearing in the video below to see how much his mom is on his mind.
The shirt has a heart decal split down the middle with different colors proclaiming "Half Of My Heart Is Deployed."
Of course, Ryan's mom was aware of this, as she missed her son just as much. So she got in contact with Ryan's teacher and set up a beautiful surprise.
Check out their heartwarming reunion in the video below, and please SHARE this story if you love when our soldiers come home!
