Son Is Paralyzed By Pain, So Mom Rushes Him To ER — But He’s Turned Away 3 Times

Doctors usually have the knowledge and tools to properly diagnose us when we are feeling unwell, but confirming what disease one may be afflicted with is like putting together a very complex puzzle: you have to piece the clues together perfectly to see the whole picture.

However, doctors are not always right about what goes on in our bodies, as one mom says. She rushed her young son to the emergency room four times with extreme pain and fever before a doctor could properly diagnose him.

Jessica Jones's son, Jaime, was suddenly struck down with the symptoms, and could barely move, or even eat. Doctors dismissed his fever, saying that it was just another viral infection.

Finally, their fourth doctor gave them a totally different diagnosis: what seemed to be a viral infection was not that at all, but Kawasaki disease.

Kawasaki disease affects primarily children and manifests as the swelling of blood vessels. To the naked eye, this results in bloodshot eyes, cracked lips, and a fever, among other symptoms.

Unfortunately, by the time Jaime was diagnosed, he suffered three aneurysms and now has to wear a heart monitor. He can't play the same sports he used to, but he's finding hope in a new activity: swimming!
