Man Injures Himself And Sees Nobody Is Around To Help, Then He Spots The Mailman Down The Street

For United States Postal Service worker Roger Vaad, a regular day of delivering mail ended up featuring a heroic rescue.

Roger was delivering the mail as he usually did, when something strange occurred. An injured man came bolting toward him in a panic. That man, named Christopher Connor, had quite the story to tell.

Christopher was at home using a saw to design furniture, which he did very often. Suddenly, his hand got caught.

In the video below, posted on February 9, 2017, Christopher explains his moment of terror immediately following the accident, stating: "I panicked, you know. I didn't know what to do. I could see my fingers, you know, coming off."

He quickly ran across the street to ask his neighbors for help, but none of the women were home at the time. Christopher was at a loss, until he spotted someone else nearby: the mailman.

Christopher came running toward Roger, who was delivering mail to the neighborhood. Roger usually came a 2 p.m. every day, though he just happened to be early that afternoon.

Roger remembers Christopher coming down the driveway, yelling. He asked if he had a phone with him, and of course, the early mailman knew he needed to act quickly. Roger tried his best to calm Christopher down  in his terrifying situation and called 911.

"The people I know working here, anyone who would have seen the distress and help that he needed would've stopped," a modest Roger explains.

A very thankful Christopher adds: "I was losing blood and you know, going into shock. I don't know what would've happened. I'm glad I didn't have to find out."
