Dad Finds Secret Compartment In Teen Daughter’s Used Car, Breaks Down When He Sees Envelope

When Kevin Duke bought his teenage daughter a used car just a few weeks before her 16th birthday, he wanted to make sure it was running in tip-top shape. He inspected it himself, turning over every mat and opening every compartment to make sure there was nothing he didn't know about the car. He even drove it around to make sure it ran smoothly.

But just when he thought he had the vehicle all figured out, he found a hidden envelope inside a compartment he had opened many times already.

He wrote on Facebook: "Well, yesterday I'm in it tinkering around and I open this storage compartment on top of the dash (which I've opened a half dozen times already). This time I notice a rubber mat in the bottom of it and for whatever reason, I pull it out."

The envelope was addressed to the car's next owner, so he opened it. What he read made him tear up, and he posted photos of the letter online for all to see.

But inside a compartment he'd checked half a dozens times before, he found a letter under a mat. It was addressed to the car's new owner.

It was a touching letter from the daughter of the car's previous owner, who died along with the writer's daughter and aunt.

In the letter, she begs the new owner to take care of the car, as he or she would be "riding with angels." She also explains that she would buy the car back herself, but doesn't have the money because she had to pay for three funerals.

Ultimately, she wishes the new owner the best, hoping that the new memories made in the car will be happy ones. Reading the letter, the dad couldn't help but shed a tear or two!

The owner of the car has since come forward, and Kevin is hoping to return Sylvia to her. But he needs funds to get his daughter, Jada, another car. You can help him return Sylvia to her rightful owner by supporting his campaign.
