Drunk Customer Leaves Car In Bar Parking Lot Overnight, Then Finds Manager’s Note Saying Thanks

The dangers of drunk driving are apparent to everyone, but this often isn't enough to stop some individuals from getting behind the wheel after a night out. Many people think their faculties are intact after a few drinks when this isn't the case. Even after just one or two, it's more responsible and safe not to drive.

While it is ultimately up to citizens to decide whether to use a designated driver or take a cab home, businesses can help them make these decisions by incentivizing their good actions.

In May 2015, a Kamloops, British Columbia, establishment called Duffy's Neighborhood Pub got attention for the way its manager, Arthur Dolmat, was thanking and encouraging his patrons for not getting behind the wheel.

One Imgur user posted a photo of a note found on his windshield after he left his car in the bar's parking lot because he was impaired. The note thanked him, and attached was a $25 gift card for his next visit!

Duffy's isn't the only bar with the idea: One woman found a voucher from an Original Joe's restaurant after she left her vehicle there overnight!

Arthur told CBC News, "I noticed more and more vehicles being left behind in our parking lot and I figured, they had a great time at my pub, might as well reward them for making the right choice."
