Driver Is Impaled After Falling Asleep At The Wheel, But Walks Away With Hole In Her Chest

It's a rule drivers are reminded of time and time again: if you feel like dozing off behind the wheel, it's time to pull over and take a nap. Not doing this can cause major harm to you and others you share the road with. You never know who or what you might steer into while nodding off.

Anissa Williams is just one person who has miraculously survived an accident after falling asleep while driving. It's safe to say that she has certainly learned a lesson from her ordeal.

The driver ended up plowing through a fence, and almost into a house. A metal rod impaled her through the chest, piercing her car seat and ending up in the trunk of her car.

Needless to say, it's a miracle she survived. But what doctors are truly stunned by is how little time she took to recover: less than two weeks, when they expected her to spend at least three in the hospital.

Anissa almost looks unscathed. Besides the loss of a finger, she has no obvious marks of trauma.

She knows that she's lucky and that the situation could have turned out much differently. But now, she's learned to appreciate the little things in life, and to keep in mind what's truly important!

Her story is truly a cautionary tale to all drivers: feeling sleepy behind the wheel can lead to disastrous consequences.

Please SHARE to wish Anissa well during her extended recovery!
