Man Finds Court Summons In The Mail, Then Reads Closely And Discovers It’s A Wedding Invitation

When most people get engaged, they're excited to start planning their wedding. It's a lot of fun to start making preparations for "the best day of your life."

From flower arrangements and cake tastings to catering options, venue choices, and wedding invitations — there are a million things to plan for the big day.

Some couples want their weddings to be elegant and mature, while others want their weddings to be personal and goofy.

One couple decided to make their wedding very customized. From the first thing their guests would see — the invitation — the couple wanted their guests to have a fully immersive experience.

The bride's nephew opened his mailbox to find something completely stunning: a court summons.

When he opened the envelope, though, he realized that the "Notice To Appear" was actually his aunt's wedding invitation — she's marrying a sheriff, so the court summons invite makes complete sense!

Many wedding invitations are floral and pretty, like the one shown above. The one thing most wedding invitations have in common, though, is that they're very personal for the engaged couple.

One couple went above and beyond with their wedding invitations — the man, who is a sheriff, used his position to give his guests quite a scare.

Instead of sending a more generic card, they sent out a card that looked just like a court summons.

A person who goes by "Exsupervillain" posted the invitation on Imgur, where he wrote, "My aunt is marrying a sheriff. Their invitation nearly gave everyone a heart attack."

Inside the card, it became clear to the guests that it wasn't, in fact, a notice to appear in court, but actually an invitation to a wedding.

The letter says that the couple is "graduating from dating and engagement," and includes the date, time, and a line to sign that says, "I hereby promise to appear at the time and place indicated above."

If this wedding invitation is any indication, this couple's wedding is sure to be a blast.

It looks like they definitely have fun pranking their guests, which means that their guests are in for quite an experience on May 26, 2017.

Have you ever seen a wedding invitation like this before? How funny is this?
