Rebekah Hindi was walking her dog, Marley, alongside an arroyo (or a creek) when a nightmare became reality.
Marley fell into the arroyo. The pup was instantly caught up in the rushing water.
Rebekah didn't hesitate.
"It's like if it was one of my kids, it would've been the exact same thing."
She jumped in after Marley.
But soon, Rebekah quickly realized that she was in trouble too.
She was trying to hold onto her daughter, who was walking Marley along with her that day, while also reaching down to save Marley.
It wasn't working, and Rebekah's daughter's grip was starting to slip.
Nearby, Farah Council heard the screams of a young woman, and ran over to the arroyo to investigate.
There, she encountered the scene, and rushed in to help.
Now with Farah's help, Marley was able to be rescued, and Rebekah was saved from further danger.
"This is like my second life!" Rebekah exclaims in the video below. "Most of all, I appreciate that Farah gave me and Marley the same amount of her strength."
"I don't think it was a choice," Farah remarks in regard to her decision to rush over and help. "Don't be a bystander."
The two women were able to reunite, and Rebekah hopes that Farah, her hero, will remain in her life going forward.
