The perfect accessories can complete any outfit. Unfortunately, with a lot of jewelry comes the issues of clutter, space, and storage. Luckily, a woman from the Pin Project has two DIY solutions to those everyday dilemmas!
In the video below, posted on March 31, 2017, the woman takes an empty box boasting a cute New York theme on the front and inside. She opens the box to reveal the hollow space that she will be working with.
She picks up an ordinary yellow sponge and stuffs it inside, along with tiny pieces from another sponge to create the perfect fit. Next, she grabs a knife and begins slicing through the sponge vertically, making evenly spaced rows.
After cutting a small square of polka-dot material and placing it over the sponge, she takes a butter knife and slips the edges into the crevices she previously cut up. Once everything is neatly tucked into the DIY jewelry box, she spreads her earrings out in their new storage space.
She then moves on to project two: a ring holder made from a boring white picture frame.
She removes the back of the frame as well as the glass and flips it over. She takes a roll of silver trimming and a hot glue gun. She cuts off a thin piece of the trimming and goes to town decorating the white rectangle. Next, she sticks on some gems and pearls from the crafts store and waits for everything to dry.
After tracing around the frame and cutting out a rectangular shape, she glues the material to the back of the frame. Once she puts the back on, she finalizes her piece by sticking a thumbtack into the back so she can hang her rings up in style.
