If you're a baseball fan, then you know how exciting it is to attend an opening day game. It's a special moment, as every fan of every team prepares themselves to watch the first game of the season, and with that preparation comes the hope that it will be your team's year. Lisa Blunt and Brian Buehrle, a couple of Detroit Tigers fans, know this well.
In fact, opening day for the Detroit Tigers provided the perfect backdrop for a special surprise for the couple.
Before the Tigers' game against the Boston Red Sox, WXYZ reporter Jennifer Ann Wilson was outside Comerica Park, interviewing fans about the impending game, when she met Lisa and Brian.
According to her, Brian claimed to know exactly how to give the Detroit Tigers the luck they needed to pull off the win.
"What are you gonna do?" she asked him.
Brian nodded, but then he said "Lisa…" and turned to his girlfriend.
Then he got down on one knee on live TV!
The rest of the fans around them began to cheer in anticipation as Brian performed his proposal.
Brian and Lisa had been together for three years, but were friends for 14 years before that.
"We need an answer!" Jennifer Ann yelled.
"Yes!" replied an overwhelmed and overjoyed Lisa!
Let's hope for the two fans' sake that the Detroit Tigers borrowed some of that goodness!
