Deployed soldiers are often gone for months at a time, leaving their loved ones behind. Their spouses, children, parents, and siblings patiently wait for them to return home, praying all the while that they do so safe and sound.
Of course, the moment they get to see their soldier return home and hold him or her in their arms is one of the sweetest moments.
The relief and happiness they feel means everything in the world — and we're sure these soldiers feel the same. Just check out this emotional clip in which a soldier surprises his wife after being absent for a year. He was deployed just one hour after he was married — no wonder she couldn't help but burst into tears!
So when one National Guardsman returned home from a deployment in Qatar, neither he nor his wife could wait any longer to embrace.
Still physically separated, as the video below shows, the couple were able to shared a kiss through a hole in the fence between them.
The moment was caught on camera and the photo was shared by the Department of Defense on Facebook.
