There's no telling exactly when a baby will push his or her way into the world. One Detroit mom knows this first hand after both her children, born four years apart, were born at home.
Jasmine Simpson remembers when she gave birth to her daughter in her house. But she never expected her baby boy to make the same kind of sudden arrival.
As soon as she felt labor starting, she called a friend to drive her to the hospital, but while she was on the phone she realized that her son's head was also almost out, so she called 911 for an ambulance.
Both the friend and the paramedics rushed to be by Jasmine's side, but her friend got there first, a mere seconds for the ambulance.
The friend rushed upstairs to the bathroom, and managed to catch the baby boy just in time!
The baby weighed just over seven pounds, and was as healthy as can be. Now the mom can tell friends and family that she gave birth to not one but two children in her own home. She jokes that her sister doesn't have the same experience: she, on the other hand, was in labor for hours and hours as opposed to Jasmine's forty-five minutes.
