She Orders Oysters, But Hurts Her Tooth When She Doesn’t Look Before She Bites

In 2015, Toni Elliot went to a local Puckett's Boat House in Franklin, Tennessee, to pick up her favorite oyster dinner.

When Toni bit into the oyster, she felt something hard. She thought she had hurt her tooth, and called over her server, Eric Horton. The general manger, Greg Hergest, revealed that was the moment Toni realized what she had really bitten into.

"I went over to see if she was OK, and she goes, 'Oh yes, I just found this pearl in my mouth!'" Greg told ABC News. "She started pulling out more pearls from her mouth, and the whole table started laughing."

After Toni bit in, she discovered 50 pearls. The entire restaurant was stunned.

"We've never seen anything like this before," he said. "We've had cases where someone might find one pearl, but this is the first time someone's found 50."

Toni plans on keeping them as souvenirs rather than trading them in for cash.

“The manager of the restaurant came over and said, ‘I hear you got a pearl in your oyster.’ I said, ‘Well I’m up to 10 so far,’” Elliott told WKRN.

The restaurant cleaned off the pearls and put them in a cup for Toni to take home.

"It was her oyster, so they're her pearls," Greg said. "It's like winning the lottery. She was so excited to have them."
