A man from Phoenix, Arizona, named Richard Christianson uploaded a photo he had taken of an abandoned street at night. After posting it on Facebook, he couldn't have known the viral response it would receive.
A shadowy figure appears in the photo. The shape is dark and seems to have the silhouette of a winged creature. When users saw it, they immediately began to debate the true meaning of the photo.
Was the strange figure a monster, an angel, or a demon? The photo was shared over 100,000 times.
Some said it was a "dark angel," a "fallen angel," a regular "angel," or a "mothman." Others were slightly more skeptical, accusing Richard of Photoshopping the image, or saying it was merely a palm tree at night.
"[It's a] demon, because there is no way that is a tree and even so in the Bible Genesis, angels cannot reveal themselves but demons can do it because they are falling and thrown out; they take form, so pretty much I think we saw a demon and pretty much so I'm scared that Judgment Day will soon come to all of us," one comment read.
"Do any of you know what an angel looks like? How would you know what a 'demon angel' would look like? Angels can take on any form," another comment said.
