Officer Grabs Snapping Turtle, Then Loads Him Into Red Radio Flyer To Help Him Cross The Street

Duty called when a Prince William County officer came across a group of people that found a snapping turtle attempting to cross the road.

Of course, with the steady amount of traffic going through the area, the creature didn't have much of a chance. So the officer took charge and used what he had at his disposal to save the little fellow.

In the clip below, you can see the officer hesitantly try to grab the animal to load him into a red radio flyer. The snapping turtle is a little resistant, opening his mouth threateningly.

The officer gently places him into the wagon, and pulls him across the street at a safe distance from the speeding cars.

Of course, it's never advised to interfere with a wild animal unless absolutely necessary. In this case, with as little interaction as possible, it's safe to say that these people's actions definitely helped the turtle survive!

The officer also unhurt by the turtle — although he did try.

This isn't the first time humans have helped turtles. It's quite often that we have had to step up to the plate to save these animals: pollution and oil spills continuously put other turtle species at risk for injury or death.

Please SHARE if you're glad this precious creature was able to make it out of this ordeal alive!
