ER Nurse Lauren Wirwille was in the car with her mother and grandmother when she witnessed a terrible accident.
The women were on their way to Lauren's bridal shower when the driver of the car in front of theirs became distracted — or so they thought.
Lauren honked her horn at the man, but he just rolled straight through the intersection, right into a deep ditch by the side of the road. If they hadn't seen it with their own eyes, it's very likely that no one else would have spotted him.
The bride-to-be quickly jumped to action, trying to get to the car to save the man. When she reached him, his pulse was very weak. Then it disappeared entirely.
Lauren started giving him chest compressions. With the help of her mother and another stranger, the man was hauled back onto the road and rushed to a hospital.
Lauren was trying to revive him the entire time. She thought about her bridal shower in the middle of the emergency, realizing that she was going to be over an hour late. But it didn't stop her from trying to save that man.
She didn't want him to die — especially not on the day of her bridal shower! She says that God put her behind him for a reason, and she may be right. The man survived, all thanks to her!
Her fiancé, of course, was not angry that his wife-to-be saved a life on her way to the event. She got a huge round of applause from friends and loved ones when she arrived, too!
