Living a healthy lifestyle doesn't come easily to many of us. Our busy lives sometimes stop us from exercising and eating healthy, and then we develop bad habits that harm our health.
Being overweight or obese doesn't just have consequences on our physical health, but can also take a toll on our mental health. Kevin Eisenbrown weighed 336 pounds and dealt with anxiety, stress, and depression.
He was at the lowest of his lows and knew he needed to change his life. Nothing could lift his mood, and he had no good days.
Then, in an effort to challenge himself, he signed up for the Pittsburgh Half Marathon. Over the course of his training, he slowly lost inches and pounds.
Before he knew it, he looked like a totally different person. He dropped 120 pounds and felt better than ever. He says he saved his own life!
Now, he weighs a healthy 217 pounds thanks to healthy eating habits and regular exercise. He feels better mentally too! He started his training with the intention of losing weight but never expected he would feel better because of it.
Kevin's next step? Running a full marathon!
"I've never felt better, never had more energy," he tells Action News 4. "I just wish I did it a long time ago."
