Home Goes Up For Sale, Then Buyers Hear About Real Estate Agent’s Mystery Tenant Living Upstairs

When a house went up for sale in Cayce, South Carolina, buyers scouting for online listings took it in stride — at first.

Upon reading the description of the house, several of them noticed something very strange. In no time, the listing went viral. Apparently, there was a mystery tenant living in the upstairs apartment of the house.

The description went into detail about this tenant. According to the Huffington Post, he or she did not pay rent, and there was no security deposit in place. However, there was still a lease in place. Potential buyers would not be allowed to meet the invisible tenant or tour the upstairs portion of the house. And little was known about the building's condition.

Pictures of the residence were not particularly reassuring, and many began to believe that the tenant was really a ghost!

The case of the mysterious tenant was solved when retired artist Randall McKissick came forward. Down on his luck due to the changing industry, he asked a friend — the owner of the home — for a place to stay. He gave him a key to the house and allowed him to stay in the upstairs apartment on a month-to-month basis.

He says that the only potential bother he would cause downstairs tenants would be the sound of his heavy footsteps!
