Son Thinks He’s FaceTiming His Soldier Mom At School, But Has No Idea She’s Right Behind Him

For many kids like Logan Blood, using FaceTime is the closest way to being with a parent. For the past year, Logan's mom Cassidy has been deployed in Iraq with the United States Army.

They remained in constant communication, usually through FaceTime.

Yet FaceTime, while great for military families who are separated by duty, will never hold a candle to those actual real-life reunions, whenever they may occur!

In many ways, then, this Mother's Day was looking like a typical day for Logan, a kindergartner at Gilchrist Elementary School in Tallahassee, Florida. A FaceTime call was all that was available to him during the school's Mother's Day Tea.

While moms, aunts, and grandmas spent time with their younger loved ones at the party, Logan busied himself by drawing up a Mother's Day card.

Little did Logan know, he wasn't alone at the party after all.

It was his teacher, Sara Shelton, who initially suggested that Logan should FaceTime his mom and show her the card he had created for her.

When Cassidy picked up the call, Logan began showing his beloved mom his art. But he never could have expected that it was all one big distraction  a team effort on the part of Cassidy and Sara.

Logan had no clue that his mom was standing right behind him!
