Many people's fondest memories of growing up involve birthday parties.
When I was growing up, balloon animals were a staple at most of the parties I attended, but the masterpieces created by Japanese balloon artist Masayoshi Matsumoto are not your average birthday party balloons.
Masayoshi specializes in making insanely realistic animal sculptures from balloons. That’s right, just balloons. In his Instagram bio, the balloon animal expert explains that he does not use any additional materials like adhesives or markers when making his creations, which is pretty incredible when you think about it.
According to Metro, it takes around two hours for Masayoshi to finish a piece, although the more complex designs can take up to six hours.
I think Masayoshi’s hard work definitely pays off, but you can check out his incredible creations below and decide for yourself!

Insects are Masayoshi's specialty.
I mean, just look at this luna moth!
It's scary how real this spider looks.
The talented artist also does animals.
Like these colorful birds.
And this cobra.
Masayoshi is basically the Michelangelo of balloon animal sculptures.
