Rep. John Rose of Tennessee learned one of the biggest rules in show business the hard way: You will always be upstaged by animals and children. He brought his 6-year-old son Guy to work with him on June 3, 2024. The Republican gave a speech in Congress denouncing former President Donald Trump’s May 30 guilty verdict. His speech was aired on C-SPAN.
Guy was seated behind his father. He proceeded to make a number of silly faces such as sticking his tongue out. He even moved over to be more in frame.
At first, Guy just smiled for the camera. He soon got bored of that and scooted over. He moved on to sticking out his tongue and making wide-eyed expressions. Eventually, he added hand gestures. It was pretty adorable.
The internet could not get enough of Guy. He is already a popular meme. One user on X joked that the scene stealer "does NOT need media training."

Thankfully, dad has a good sense of humor about the situation. “This is what I get for telling my son Guy to smile at the camera for his little brother,” he wrote on X. Let’s hope his 3-year-old brother Sam got a kick out of it as well. Guy just graduated from kindergarten, which is why he was spending some quality time with his dad.
