Influencer Runs Marathon 6 Months Postpartum & Gets Criticized For How Much Attention She’s Bringing To It

As if runners didn’t get enough attention for making sure everyone knows they ran a marathon, NYC Marathon runner and influencer Allison Kuch took it to a whole other level. The mom of two not only posted about running in the race six months postpartum, but she also made waves for stopping mid-race to breastfeed one of her children. While that might be an amazing feat to some of her fans and followers, Allison’s haters are less inclined to gas her up and sing praises for the content creator.

In a post on Reddit, users called out Allison for using the marathon to get more attention than she already has. They also discussed if other moms participated in the same way in the last but did not make headlines as easily as Allison did. And this isn’t the first time that Allison was called out for a public stunt of sorts that gained her more attention both on and off social media.

An influencer mom ran the NYC Marathon months after giving birth.

Allison posted multiple videos and photos on Instagram leading up to the marathon. In one video, she shared her plans to breastfeed during the marathon, which typically takes an average of more than four hours and 30 minutes to complete. Then, when she received her race bib, she posted a video to commemorate the moment and she shared why she planned to run in the marathon.

“6 months postpartum, still haven’t slept through the night, mastitis, missed training runs and I’m still here!!!” Allison wrote in the caption. “So excited to run with Maybelline in my first marathon and running FOR mental health!!”

She also shared an Instagram post from mid-race that also tagged Maybelline. In the caption, she wrote, “Running the NYC Marathon at 6 months postpartum w/ @maybelline hbu?”

The NYC Marathon mom was called out for being “performative.“

During the marathon, Allison stopped at mile 17 to breastfeed her younger daughter. The marathon is 26.2 miles long in total. Although Allison’s point seemed to have been motherhood empowerment and strength during the marathon and in her act of breastfeeding, those who already can’t stand the mom influencer didn’t love it.

In the Reddit post, which was shared on a subreddit dedicated to snark about Allison specifically, someone wrote, “Did you see in her stories she shared a video of her breastfeeding Pepper during the race?? Like it’s great she is breastfeeding her child but also it’s sooooo fucking performative!”

Someone else commented, “Please do not get me wrong, running a marathon is a huge accomplishment. I am so envious of people that can do that. But why is she and her husband and friends acting like she’s the first person to ever run one? Has a mother of two that breast-fed and had sleepless nights never ran a marathon before? She’s the only one?”

“RIP to her pelvic floor,” another user joked.

Allison Kuch has been criticized for seeking attention before.

@allisonkuch

ran & ate “healthy” my entire pregnancy and I still look like I had a baby because …. I literally had a baby. Love this body so much because it gave me my girls

In the comments on Allison’s Instagram posts about the marathon, she received praise from friends, family, and fans. But for every follower an influencer has, they have at least two haters, and the same goes for Allison. So much so that, long before she began to post about her NYC Marathon plans, people trolled her for sharing her postpartum body with the world. Well, they didn’t drag her for sharing her body, but they did slam Allison for seemingly humble bragging for attention.

Shortly after Allison gave birth to her second child, she posted a TikTok showing her belly and wrote on the screen that “It’s okay to look like you had a baby after you literally had a baby.”

In the TikTok, she walks down the street with her shirt pulled up to show her stomach. But, her haters wrote on Reddit, it was all about trying to get attention and showing off rather than being body positive.

At the time, one person wrote on the post, “She’s trying to be relatable but it just isn’t. Like, girl I get it, postpartum sucks, but at least you’re rich and live a privileged life.”

“She is extremely annoying and uses her platform to validate herself and it’s ridiculous,” someone else wrote. See what I mean about two haters for every fan?
