This has not been the best public relations week for Ashton Kutcher. In wake of his letter supporting the character of convicted rapist Danny Masterson, old clips of him discussing underage girls have resurfaced. It is not a good look.
On September 7, 2023, Danny Masterson was sentenced to 30 years to life for raping two women at the height of his That '70s Show fame. Ashton tried to help his old friend out by writing the letter to the judge, but received public criticism for doing so. Ashton and wife Mila Kunis made a mediocre attempt to explain and apologize, prompting old clips from Punk’d and The Rosie O'Donnell Show to be unearthed.
In his letter, Ashton called Danny an “excellent role model.” Ashton also stated that Danny “has always treated people with decency, equality, and generosity." That is, of course, unless you were one of the two women he was convicted of raping.
Chrissie Carnell Bixler, Danny’s ex-girlfriend and one of his accusers, has been vocal about her disgust over Ashton’s actions. "In my opinion, you're just as sick as your 'mentor,'" Chrissie stated.
She posted in her Instagram stories a 2003 clip from Punk’d in which Ashton is discussing Hilary Duff. "She's one of the girls that we're all waiting to turn 18," Ashton stated. "Along with the Olsen twins.” Hilary was 16 at the time and the twins were 17.

Another clip that does not paint Ashton in the best light came from a 2002 episode of The Rosie O'Donnell Show. Ashton and Mila played a couple on That '70s Show. During season one, Ashton was 19 years old and Mila was 14. Danny apparently dared Ashton to French kiss Mila during one of their stage kisses. Ashton claims to have done it but Mila claims she did not let him. Ashton even admits to thinking: "Wait, this is slightly illegal, right?"
