A Terrified Beagle Rescued From A Medical Testing Lab Learns To Love Walks

Before Dora, a rescue Beagle, was retired from a medical testing lab, she had never been outside. She didn’t even technically have a name. She was just referred to by the number that was tattooed inside her ear.

A Chicago-based rescue group called One Tail at a Time worked hard to give Dora a new lease on life. At first, this pup was scared of everything. As she grew more confident and comfortable, she learned to love things like walks.

Dora was first placed in a foster home. She was taken to get spayed by another foster, who fell in love with her. Laura and Luke decided to keep her and she quickly became a member of their family.

Dora had to learn how to be a dog. She didn’t know how to use the stairs or go on walks. Everything was new and scary.

These days, she loves to cuddle, play, and go on walks. She is curious about everything and worked through her fears and anxieties. She even stands on her hind legs like a human, especially when there is food around. She is living her best dog life.
