Albert was just 9 years old when his father died. Fast forward to when he's 14 and he still remembers the exact expression on his mother’s face when she told him that his dad had died in a horrible car accident. He felt haunted by the fact that he never got to say goodbye.
The teen lived with his mother and grandmother and even though they always told him that his father was watching over him with pride, he still felt an unbearable loss.
“I miss you so much, Dad,” Albert cried while holding a photo of him. At that moment, he felt so desperate for his father’s touch or to simply be in his presence one more time.
The next day at school, everyone had to get up to share some of their hopes and dreams for their future. When his turn came, Albert proudly ventured to the front of the class and told his peers that he wanted to be class president and a lawyer like his dad when he grew up.
When he finished speaking, Albert immediately felt his cheeks flush because he could see a lot of his classmates snickering at him. Later that day, some of them even came up to him and told him how funny they thought it was since he was so shy.
