Brad Pitt Gets Roasted Over His ‘Midlife Crisis’ Outfits As Fans Question His Fashion Choices

Brad Pitt’s interesting fashion choices have been getting a lot of attention lately, but not necessarily for a good reason. Fans can’t decide whether his desire to experiment with fashion is a sign that Brad is living his best life or that he’s really going through it right now.

The account behind a now-viral post seemed to assume it was the latter. The viral X post, which has amassed more than 2.4 million views, reads, “Is Brad Pitt having a midlife crisis… the blue velvet, the baggy ripped pants, and the 30-year-younger girlfriend like he just discovered nightlife again.”

The post includes two of Brad’s more unconventional outfit choices.

In one of the photos, Brad is wearing wide-leg jeans, a blue velvet blazer that appears to basically be the same color as the jeans, a striped shirt, and square-toed boots. In the second photo, he’s wearing a silk shirt that’s partially tucked into baggy velvet pants with a hole in the knee. Again, the outfit included square-toed boots. Both of the images show Brad, 62, with his girlfriend, Ines de Ramon, 33.

The two photos sparked an interesting conversation about Brad’s fashion choices. To some commenters, he merely seems to be enjoying his life, experimenting with different trends, and perhaps feeling inspired by the 90s. Others saw his fashion choices and his much-younger girlfriend as classic signs of a midlife crisis. “Men go through midlife crises… And usually is looking ridiculous because they try to look young and cool, and dating women half their age,” someone wrote in the comments.

Critics accused him of trying to embrace Gen Z fashion when he’s actually a Baby Boomer. Some said these outfits made him look like “a 13 year old in his dad’s suit” or like he did his shopping at a garage sale. “He looks like he raided both a thrift store and a nightclub in the same afternoon…” someone else said.

In Brad’s defense, he has the ability to pull a lot of things off—which is why some of his fans were shocked to see how “ridiculous” these outfits looked. “It’s very hard for him to look bad and he’s managed it with these two outfits,” another person commented.

Some fans pushed back on the “midlife crisis” accusations.

Not because they had an issue with the “crisis” part, though. In reality, they feel that Brad is actually past the point of going through a “midlife crisis.” He might be going through something, but as far as they’re concerned, he’s simply “too old” to be dealing with the existential questioning that people commonly experience during midlife. Of course, people have different ideas about what counts as midlife. But the general consensus online seems to be that Brad might be dealing with a different type of crisis.

“midlife?” someone questioned. “his midlife was 30 years ago.” Another person argued that it seems “more like a senior life crisis” because “this dude is old.”

“He’s definitely having a stylist crisis,” a third person commented.

But can’t a man have fun with fashion?

Sure, Brad’s outfits might not be in line with everyone’s tastes (the words “catastrophic” and “atrocious” appeared several times in the comments). But some people online actually appreciated his unconventional fashion choices. “he’s having fun w/ mens fashion which is rarely seen,” someone wrote in his defense. “velvet is adding a lil whimsy.”

Last month, another one of Brad’s outfits made headlines. On September 16, he attended the Heart of the Beast premiere in Nashville in a camouflage-print suit. At the time, he joked to USA Today that he chose that particular outfit because he “was trying to lay low and not be seen.”
