Brian Austin Green Reveals A Change In Diet Left Him Unable To Speak For Four Years

Brian Austin Green is opening up about his health journey and the complications that have come along with it. On the most recent episode of Cheryl Burke's Sex, Likes and Spray Tans podcast, the 50-year-old 90210 actor opened up about how he has worked to overcome a major health complication simply by changing his diet.

In the episode, titled "Ready to Rumba with Brian Austin Green," he discussed his relationship with his fiancée Sharna Burgess, and how they both met at a time in their lives when they had a lot of work to do in order to become better versions of themselves.

“She had been really working on herself hard," Brian started off. "She’s been single for almost five years,” he said, while also adding that he’d been single for two years and in therapy during the time.

“I’d spent four and a half years recovering from stroke-like symptoms without ever having had a stroke, but I couldn’t speak,” he continued. He shared that he had been diagnosed with vertigo and ulcerative colitis, a combination that caused him to be bedridden for three months.

“Then these neurological things started happening after the vertigo, and that was — it was four and a half years of my life. I got to the point where I shuffled like I was a 90-year-old man," Brian shared. “I couldn’t speak. I couldn’t read. I couldn’t write."

He went on to explain that it was dietary, but getting intentional about making a change finally helped him to start getting and feeling better. A new physician helped him to figure out that he had “internal inflammation from gluten and diary,” with stress also being a factor.
