Britney Spears finally has control over her own narrative and she is ready to bare it all. After years of fighting for her freedom, in November 2021 Britney was released from a 13-year conservatorship. She can finally express her creativity freely without constraint. Part of her expression is her upcoming memoir, The Woman In Me.
This highly anticipated book will be released on October 24, 2023. Many publishers fought for the honor to print the "Gimme More" singer’s words but Gallery Books emerged victorious. It is an imprint of Simon & Schuster.
Jennifer Bergstrom, Gallery Books senior vice president and publisher, could not be more excited about this page turner. “Britney’s compelling testimony in open court shook the world, changed laws, and showed her inspiring strength and bravery,” she mused. “I have no doubt her memoir will have a similar impact — and will be the publishing event of the year. We couldn’t be more proud to help her share her story at last.”
A press release about the memoir pledges the autobiography will disclose “for the first time her incredible journey [and] strength at the core of one of the greatest performers in pop music history.” It is evidence of “the importance of a woman telling her own story, on her own terms.” It celebrates “the enduring power of music and love.”
