Chevy Chase is going to be a grandfather. The 80-year-old actor and comedian took to Instagram to share that his daughter Emily, 36, is expecting her first baby with her partner, Alex Baglieri. Chevy wrote on Instagram: "I can't wait to be a Grandad! Congrats to my daughter @em_chases and @alex.baglieri ❤️." Emily commented on the post, writing, "Love you, Grandad!!! "
Others were quick to congratulate the grandpa-to-be. "Congratulations!! Best grandpa ever!!!!" one person wrote. Another commented: "Your Grandad Era is going to be wonderful. Lucky little baby. ❤"
Chevy has three daughters: Emily, Cydney, and Caley, whom he shares with his wife Jayni. He also has a son — Bryan Perkins — whom he shares with a previous partner.
The Chase family is somewhat private, but Chevy often posts images of his wife and kids on his Instagram. In December 2023, he posted another photo with his daughter Emily and her partner. "So happy to have my daughter @em_chases and @alex.baglieri come by and say 'hi' at @thats4ent this weekend," he wrote at the time.

Emily spoke highly of her dad when speaking to Bedford & New Canaan Magazine for an article published in March 2024. "My dad is the funniest and most generous and loving person I know," she said. "We truly couldn’t ask for a better dad.”
