Jane stood inside the musty and seemingly empty barn as she tried to come to grips with everything that had happened in the past several weeks. Her father died and the lawyer dealing with his estate had never treated her with empathy or kindness, especially considering how he treated her siblings.
After finding a hastily written note on the back of an old photograph, Jane realized that her father might have been leaving her a message from beyond the grave.
It was a sunny day when Jane received a letter in the mail that told her that she had inherited her estranged deceased father’s old barn, along with all its contents.
It had been years since she had stepped foot inside the old farm building. Jane remembered playing inside the barn when she was a child, but as she stood outside the barn as an adult, she was disappointed to find a rotting and forgotten wood shelter.
