Comb-over or hair piece? That is the question when it comes to Donald Trump. Well, that’s one question that people tend to think of when considering what Trump is hiding from the American people. It might also be one of the more innocent conundrums about the president, since there are plenty of other things that people are curious about.
But in a TikTok video of Trump meeting with the president of France, Emmanuel Macron, one thing that stands out for some is Trump’s hair. Or, rather, his hair “flap.” Has Trump ever actually admitted to wearing a toupee or anything in his hair to make it appear fuller than it really is? Of course not. But the speculation is real.

In the TikTok, the hair on top of Trump’s head looks like it’s almost a different color. It’s also styled in a way that makes the back of his head look bald, with two wide flaps of hair combed over for whatever style he is going for. Someone joked in the comments that Trump “He left the top down on the convertible.”
Others agreed that, until now, they were sure that Trump’s hair was a comb-over, but that they now believe it’s a toupee on top of his head. The picture foesn’t really confirm anything other than the fact that Trump’s hair is a confusing mess.
“I’m glad I’m not the only one who noticed,” another TikTok user commented, in response to a screenshot of Trump’s hair in the video. “I was like wtf is going on with his head?!”
Another wrote, “That whole look has been a toupee?? I always [thought] it was a comb-over holding on for dear life!”
And, someone added, “Everyone hates him, they all see it. No one is telling him because they’re all laughing at his azz.”
Trump’s comb-over needs to be studied.

While people have speculated about Trump’s hair for some time now, according to some, it’s his real hair. He just has it combed over in a way that makes it look fuller or more prominent in one part of his head. And his hair took on a life of its own a long time ago. In 2018, The Guardian reported that Trump was seen with the wind lifting up his hair and showing off a wild comb-over.
More recently, in 2026, The Washington Post reported that a hair-loss drug Trump allegedly used was left off his medical records at the time. Did he stop using it and just succumb to hairloss? Or, is there something else Trump isn’t telling us? Unfortunately, we may never know for sure.
Other people pointed out another part of Trump’s appearance in the video.
While some TikTok users certainly called out Trump for the hair flub, others noticed something else. In the video, Trump climbs a set of stairs and then unexpectedly pauses at a landing to look up at something off-camera. He might be using this pause to admire something as a cover for actually catching his breath, according to some.
“He often stops and pretends to look around but he’s actually covering up his fatigue,” one TikTok user claimed in the comments.
Another joked, “He 1,000% stopped to take a break before climbing the rest of the stairs.”
