Watch Former President Donald Trump’s Reaction To Tucker Carlson’s Firing From Fox News

Former President Donald Trump, a supporter of the TV network Fox News, has commented on the surprise firing of talk show host Tucker Carlson.

While speaking to Newsmax, he commented, "I was shocked. I’m surprised. He’s a very good person, a very good man, and very talented, and he had very high ratings."

Trump continued, "He’s been terrific especially over the last year or so; he’s been terrific to me."

He was hardly the only person surprised by the news. Many, apparently including Carlson himself, didn't exactly see the news coming.

Fox News has not offered any insight or additional explanations into why Carlson was let go since the initial statement announcing his departure. His removal came soon after the network was required to pay a $787 million settlement to Dominion Voting Systems due to the network falsely promoting election fraud in 2020.

Trump commented, "I was surprised they made a settlement in that case. I thought that was a case that should easily be won … again the Tucker situation, you don’t know if it was a firing; maybe he left because he wasn’t being given his free rein. He wants his free rein maybe, but I was surprised by it."
