Every time Donald Trump falls asleep, or at least appears to fall asleep, during a meeting at the White House, he is doing himself no favors in beating back the theories and conspiracies about his health and capabilities as the president. Unfortunately, those around him also get the brunt of the conspiracies, because now, a woman seen behind him in an Oval Office meeting is also the subject of conspiracy and curiosity.
In a video posted on X (formerly Twitter) of Trump in the Oval Office and seemingly dozing off, a woman stands to his right, holding her stomach. The user who posted the clip wrote that there is a theory she has a “zapper” button on her stomach to wake up Trump in the event that he falls asleep on-camera. Yeah, that’s the actual theory people are going with at this point.

In the clip, the aide, who was later identified as Jayme Leagh Franklin, stands in frame next to Trump as he sits at his desk. He appears to doze off, but when Franklin inexplicably pats her stomach, Trump suddenly jolts awake.

The video does make it look like Franklin somehow presses a hidden button on her stomach to wake up Trump. And her hand placement for the duration of the video is suspect enough. But the theory itself is wild, even for those who love a good conspiracy when it comes to Trump.
Someone commented, “With #TrumpSleeping, you need a zapper to wake him up.”
Another wrote, “No idea if the belly button story is true, but the timing is suspiciously perfect. One subtle press and the lights come back on. Absolute power move.”
The so-called aide once worked for the White House.
Although Franklin is being referred to as the Zapper Aide by some, her previous role in the White House was pretty important. According to Newsweek, Franklin served as the director of correspondence for Trump during his first term in the White House. She also hosts a conservative podcast called Sincerely American. As a former White House staffer and conservative Republican, Franklin has a voice among a generation that Trump may not fully reach. Her presence in the video appears to be a clear show of continued support for Trump.

After the video of Franklin with her hand on her stomach went viral and the conspiracy theories began to swirl around social media, Franklin posted a response on X.
She shared the video with the zapper theory and wrote, “I’m just pregnant you weirdos.”
The fact that she stopped in at the White House to be present for the meeting is likely because Trump signed an executive order regarding vaccines and children. Since Franklin is pregnant, it makes sense for her to keep her hand on her stomach during the meeting, seemingly as a show of support for Trump and his vaccine stance. That, or she has a secret zapper.
