A mother is mourning the loss of her child after her 9-year-old daughter took her own life because of bullying. McKenzie Adams was only a fourth grader, yet her mother, Jasmine Adams, says she was tormented by kids at two different schools in Alabama.
"That was my angel," her mother said. "She was a straight-A student, very smart." Jasmine says her daughter would carpool to school with a family friend, who was white. However, McKenzie was reportedly tormented with racist comments by many of her classmates.
"Things you wouldn't think a 9-year-old should know," her mother said, with tears in her eyes. "For my baby to tell me some of the things that they had, you know, said to her it was just like, where are they learning this from?"
Jasmine says she reported the bullying at both schools. However, through a lawyer, teachers said they were unaware of the problems going on. It was McKenzie's grandmother who found her lifeless body after she died by suicide.

The school district opened up an investigation into the bullying. People in the comments reacted to the story.
"That is horrible honestly and the fact that the school did NOTHING about it makes me sad about society," one person exclaimed. "I feel so bad for that mother!
"Bullying is anti-social behavior that children may do to other kids not realizing the pain they’re causing," another person commented. "We need to educate younger children about this problem in elementary schools. This should be required. So very sorry for the loss of your sweet daughter."
