10-Year-Old Girl Orders Birthday Cake Online, Takes A Bite And Dies A Few Hours Later

A birthday is supposed to be a day of joy and celebration. Instead, tragedy struck in Punjab, India, on March 24, 2024. A 10-year-old girl is dead after eating a birthday cake that was ordered online. Manvi had so much life ahead of her before her untimely passing.

Manvi’s family also became sick from the cake. An investigation is still ongoing. It is not known at this time if any charges have been made against the bakery.

Manvi’s grandpa, Harban Lal, opened up about the tragic event. The cake was ordered from a local bakery in Patiala. The order was placed around 6 p.m. local time.

At around 7 p.m. the family cut the cake and ate some. Everyone was happy. No one could have predicted what was to come.

By around 10 p.m. the whole family was sick. Manvi’s sisters began vomiting. Manvi complained of thirst and a dry mouth. She drank a lot of water and went to sleep.

Manvi was worse the next morning so her family decided to take her to the hospital. She was put on oxygen. An ECG was performed to test her heart function. Unfortunately, the doctors could not save her and she died the same day she was admitted.

Her family believes the cake is to blame for her death. It came from Cake Kanha in Patiala. An investigation is still ongoing. A report has been filed against the bakery.

"The postmortem of the body has been done. A sample from the cake has also been sent for testing. We are awaiting the reports," investigators stated.
