A woman brought to Dr. Phil because her boyfriend of 20 years believes she is living a secret double life as a sex worker is hoping to finally set the record straight.
Danielle doesn't understand what made Steven, with whom she shares two sons, suddenly believe that she is under the control of a pimp. Still, he's really dedicated to this idea, and it has taken a toll on their relationship.
Steven says that he cannot trust Danielle because it is clear to him that she is doing horrible, illegal things behind his back. He has even gone so far as to contact the police and the FBI.
"I do believe that my girlfriend of 20 years is involved in some sort of prostitution, posting ads online on dating sites, meeting people for sex, as well as possible drug use," Steven claims.
"I put cameras in the house and have caught her speaking to her pimp. … I do believe that Danielle is being controlled or forced to do these things by a male pimp."
Steven says he's been suspicious of Danielle since 2017, when he believes she began cheating on him. He claims that he came to the conclusion because Danielle got a lot of phone calls and text messages.
Danielle is not only baffled by why Steven began acting this way but also fed up at being a prisoner in her own home. The two no longer share a bedroom, and she believes the relationship is beyond repair.
