Jury Rules In Gwyneth Paltrow’s Favor In Ski Case As She Whispers To Man Who Sued Her

The Park City, Utah, jury reached a verdict on Thursday, March 30, 2023, in the civil trial between Oscar winner Gwyneth Paltrow and retired optometrist Terry Sanderson.

Paltrow was found not liable for the ski incident. Sanderson was found 100% at fault.

The ski incident occurred seven years ago, in February 2016. Sanderson sued Paltrow in 2019, claiming she was responsible for the accident due to negligence. He initially sought $3.1 million in damages, which was later lowered to $300,000 by Judge Kent R. Holmberg.

Paltrow had countersued Sanderson for just $1, along with legal fees, claiming negligence on Sanderson's end. The jury found in her favor. In a statement, Paltrow said, "I felt that acquiescing to a false claim compromised my integrity. I am pleased with the outcome and I appreciate all of the hard work of Judge Holmberg and the jury, and thank them for their thoughtfulness in handling this case."

Paltrow can be seen stopping by Sanderson and whispering, "I wish you well," to which he responded, "Thank you, dear," as she walked out of the courtroom.

His attorney issued a statement saying, "We are disappointed in the outcome, but we love and support the legal process. We thank Judge Holmberg, the jury and staff for all their efforts. We will spend the next while evaluating and discussing where we go from here."
