Soft-Spoken High School Wrestler Grabs Microphone To Sing National Anthem When No One Does

Isaac Bryant was your typical 17-year-old high school junior from a small town in Ohio. But thanks to one fateful technical error, he became a viral video star.

Isaac was taking a quick nap while gearing up for his recent district championship wrestling meet. But before the match could begin, someone queued up the national anthem to play over the loudspeaker. However, there was no connection, and the song wouldn't play.

Over the intercom, the announcer asked if anyone in the gymnasium could sing "The Star-Spangled Banner." No one was stepping up.

That's when Isaac's friend shook him awake and said, "You sing."

The soft-spoken teen, who is a longtime fan of country legend Hank Williams, had never sung the national anthem as a solo singer. He'd only sung it with his high school choir.

Still a little hazy from his prematch nap, Isaac cautiously obliged and took a chance on himself. He took the mic, and within seconds the crowd was stunned by the teen's strong and confident baritone voice.

Isaac's impromptu rendition was captured on camera and has since gone viral with hundreds of thousands of views — turning the Ohio teen into an internet sensation almost overnight.
