Hulk Hogan’s ex-wife Linda blasted the 2025 Emmys for leaving the late wrestler out of its “In Memoriam” segment, blaming politics for his snub.
Hogan, who starred on his own reality show Hogan Knows Best in addition to being one of the WWE’s most well-known performers for decades, died of a heart attack in July. He was 71 years old.
“WWF [was] at the top of the hour when he came on to wrestle…[Hulk] had the highest ratings on NBC, beating all other competition for that time slot for years!” Linda told Entertainment Weekly. “I really can’t tell you why they left him out.”
The wrestling great wasn’t the only one omitted from the Emmy’s segment. Two-time Academy Award winner Gene Hackman was also notably absent, as were Sopranos alum Jerry Adler, King of the Hill star Jonathan Joss, and General Hospital alum Leslie Charleson.
Linda, who was married to Hulk from 1983 to 2009, went on to speculate that his recent embrace of conservative politics, specifically his support for President Donald Trump, was the cause of the omission. During the Republican National Convention, Hulk took the stage to his wrestling theme tune “Real American” to bolster Trump’s 2024 campaign.
“I can’t prove that,” Linda said. “It’s just a guess, but they should have named him!!”
Trump publicly mourned Hogan when his death nabbed headlines over the summer, remembering him as a “great friend” in a social media tribute.
“Hulk Hogan was MAGA all the way — strong, tough, smart, but with the biggest heart,” the president wrote.
Hogan had also backed Democratic politicians in the past, including Barack Obama when he first launched his bid for the presidency.
