Sean “Diddy” Combs was briefly sprung from prison late at night on January 30, 2025.
The disgraced rapper, who has been behind bars at Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn since September, was apparently dealing with a medical issue, the New York Post reports. The 55 year old was transported to a nearby hospital “under cover of darkness” to have an MRI scan of his knee.
A source told the newspaper that Combs had been dealing with some pain and that he’s had knee issues since running the New York Marathon more than 20 years ago.

According to CBS News, the music mogul developed “severe tendinitis” in his right knee while training for the grueling 26.2 mile race in 2003. “Never in my life have I ever experienced anything as crazy as this,” said the hip-hop entrepreneur after crossing the finish line. “It was a beautiful experience.”
After the scan, Combs was reportedly taken back to his cell. It’s unclear if surgery or any other treatment is required as MDC does not comment on inmate matters.
“For privacy, safety, and security reasons, we do not discuss the conditions of confinement for any individual in our custody including health status or medical trips,” read an email from the Bureau of Prisons to People magazine.
The “Hello Good Morning” singer, who still maintains a home on Star Island in Miami Beach, Florida, was indicted on sex trafficking charges last year after a federal investigation; his trial is set for May.
